16th National Convention of Association of Administrators in Hospitality, Hotel and Restaurant Management Educational Institutions
Theme: “Challenge. Choice. Change: The Direction towards the
Achievement of the Perfect 2020 Vision”
Held Last December 1 to 3, 2016 at Hotel Centro,
Puerto Princessa City, Palawan
AAHRMEI is envisioned to be an outstanding organization serving as a vehicle to all schools offering Hospitality, Tourism and other related programs. In this year’s, 16th National Annual Convention, Dr. Cordova,the AAHRMEI Presidentemphasized in his message the “3 C’s”(Challenge, Choice, Change) which are basic but meaningful in drawing the map of success.
The Program was officialy opened by Dr. Aragon, the Convention Chair by welcoming and thanking the delegates for positively responding to theevent with a total of 349 participants from the 110 universities and industry partners all the way from Luzon to Mindanao.
Dr. Siy, the AAHRMEI Founder, started the convention proper by introducing all the keynote speakers and their topics: first to speak was: Dr. Rebustillo, President of People Management Association of the Phillipines, who shared his knowledge on the different challenges on human resources as to the different approach by the year 2020 where there is a free trade of manpower among ASEAN Countries. This was followed by the second speaker,Dr. Labuguen, President of Phil. Association of Gender Development with her topic on Gender Equality on the workplace. And in line with the importance of research and eco responsive individuals the third speakerDr. Bueno, Dean of Graduate School in Columban College shared on this. For the concluding part, a CHED Update by Dr. Cordova, AAHRMEI President was presented. After along mind boggling event for the whole day, a fellowship at night followed.
Time to enjoy and likewise learn the beauty within Palawan, there was an Underground River and City Tour for the second day, and a Closing Program on the 3rd day was higlighted withan Oath of membership, singing of AAHRMEI’s theme song “If We Hold on together” and a prayer.
The convention was worth participating as it embodies the ties and the values of a real organization of vibrant, strong – willed and brilliant people in the academe and industry aiming nothing but perfection of the efficacy and efficiency of the Hospitality Industry’s professional with an education at par with the rest of the world.
