By Mayvelyn S. Covita

In preparation for the development of the Competency Based Training Delivery in all TVIs offering TVET programs in the region, the TESDA R02 conducted a simultaneous CBLM Writeshop from June1-4, 2011 in Cagayan, Isabela and Nueva Vizcaya. It’s at Saint Mary’s University where TVIs offering TVET programs in Nueva Vizcaya convene for the said writeshop. Mrs. Mayvelyn S. Covita of the Hospitality and Tourism Management Department, School of Business and Mrs. Magdalena Juan of the School of Health Sciences represented SMU in the said writeshop. The main objective of the writeshop is to teach and assist the participants on coming up with session plans and eventually create a competency based learning material for trainees/students. TESDA Region 02 will soon go around TVIs anytime for the compliance audit and the CBLM is one among the necessary requirements that it would like to monitor. Thus, this writeshop targets at CBLM preparation and development of concerned institutions.

The opening program commenced June 1 at around 9:00 am after the registration of participants. Writeshops followed after lectures. The facilitators were Dr. Danilo Pacis of Southern Isabela Colleges of Arts & Trade (SICAT), Ms. Ma. Elena Narciso of Isabela School of Arts & Trade (ISAT) and Ms. Nenita Seruelas of Aparri School of Arts & Trade (ASAT). The quality team composed of Dr. Renato D. Ubina (ASAT) and Dr. Juanita O. Tolentino of Maddela Institute of Technology (MIT).
