The 1st Regional Seminar-Workshop for Guidance Counselors was initiated by the president last December 6, 2008 at the SMU Hantson Conference Hall, Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya highlighting updates about professionalizing the guidance counselor, amendment/ratification of the Association Constitution and By-laws and paper presentations about the topics on guidance and counseling.

He hosts the program, “Drugwatch (A Vision to Make the Schools and Communities Crime- and Drug-free) aired every 1st Saturday of every month over Local TV 08, Solano, Nueva Vizcaya. It’s a talk-show and informative program for anti-drug advocacy in support of the NDEP, PDEA and DDB.

He will propose a project about counseling the inmates especially the drug dependents (violators of R.A. 9165) at the Provincial Jail. This is in line with the significant role of the counselor as an advocate in creating futures for drug dependents and criminals especially the youth (OSY/ISY).

There is also a plan to hold another regional seminar-workshop this coming first semester in proper coordination with PGCA for possible inclusion in CPE for guidance counselors at SMU.
