MAAYO TRAINS SMU MIDDLE MANAGERS ON SUPERVISION

In order to upgrade/update the supervisory skills and knowledge of Saint Mary’s University middle managers, Dr. Geraldine Maayo of UP Diliman conducted a 2-day training on supervision at the Teachers’ Center, AVR 2 on October 5 and 6, 2009, Among other things, the topics discussed were on leadership skills, time, stress, and conflict management, distribution of work load, monitor, control, review and evaluation of performance, handling administrative duties, motivation, coaching, training and developing employees, developing communication skills, establishing one’s authority, and other related topics of supervision.
There were 45 selected participants coming from the eight schools of the university but only 33 were able to attend the seminar. Rev. Manuel D. Valencia, CICM, SMU president, Dr. John Octavios S. Palina, VP for Administration, and Dr. Nena P. Valdez, VP for Academics graced the first day of the activity. The two-day training ended with a simple closing program where the participants shared their impressions about the training.
